VALPARAISO, Ind. – Getting the experience of playing a quality NCAA Division I opponent made Saturday's match worth the while for the Grinnell College women's tennis team.
The Pioneers lost a 7-0 decision to unbeaten Valparaiso University, but gave the hosts good runs in several matches.
Mira Manchanda '24 came up big at No. 2 singles, taking her foe to three sets before losing 3-6, 6-0 and 10-7.

Irene Agusti '24 each took five games from their Valpo foes at the Nos. 3 and 4 positions.
In doubles play,
Sabrina Tang '23 and Giannakou had a great battle with Valpo's top unit before losing 6-3.
With the win, Valpo improved to 3-0 while Grinnell moved to 0-1. The Pioneers open Midwest Conference play Sunday at Lake Forest College.
