LAKE BLUFF, Ill. – Grinnell College's women's tennis team stretched its winning streak against Midwest Conference foes to an even two dozen with a 7-2 decision over Lake Forest College Sunday.
Grinnell, which hasn't lost to a league foe since the 2018-19 campaign, opened the day with victories in two of the three doubles matches. The Pioneers won 8-6 at the second slot with
Erin Jarvis '25 and
Lily Perrin '25 and 8-7 (8-6) at No. 3 with
Sophia de los Reyes '23 and
Irene Agusti '24.
The Pioneers finished things off in singles, claiming five victories.
Sabrina Tang '23 won 6-2, 6-0 at the top spot,
Ioanna Giannakou '24 posted a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 3, Agusti was a 7-5, 6-0 winner at No. 4, de los Reyes won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 and
Utsah Kalra '25 blanked her foe 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
Grinnell improved to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the league, while Lake Forest dipped to 2-4 in all matches and 1-1 in the MWC.
Grinnell is on the road again next Saturday, playing at Ripon College and Lawrence University.
