GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's volleyball team spread the wealth Friday night in a three-set sweep of Beloit College at Darby Gymnasium.
Fifteen Pioneers saw action in the 25-10, 25-17, 25-18 victory over the Buccaneers that saw Grinnell start Midwest Conference play with a 3-0 mark for the third season in a row.
Ten Grinnell players registered at least one kill, with
Jenna Keller's '24 total of 12 leading the pack as she also hit .375.
Emily Brewer '24 added 29 assists and
Rachel Woock '23 served three aces.
Malaina Miles '25 added two blocks, while
Payton Lowrey '23 and
Sophie Weber '25 had 14 digs each and Keller 13.
The first set was never in question, as the 10-5 Pioneers scored 10 of the first 11 points. Woock served up five of those.
Grinnell led the second set 18-16 before going on a six-point run that included a service ace from
Julianna Vajda '24 and kills from
Ella O'Neill '26, Miles and
Hayley Taka '26.
The Buccaneers, 1-2 in the league and 3-11 overall, led the third set 16-15 before Grinnell took command with seven unanswered points.
Nicole Mlynski '26 had two kills in that span and
Gabby Choy '26 added an ace.
Grinnell is back in action Saturday in Rock Island, Ill., to face Loras College and Augustana College in non-conference matches.
