GRINNELL, Iowa – After numerous record-breaking performances, Grinnell College's
Ethan Yuen '24 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week for the third time this season.
Yuen, from Princeton Junction, N.J. (West Windsor-Plainsboro North), shattered a MWC record and two school marks at the Pioneer Classic over the weekend. His time of 49.37 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly beat the previous MWC best of 49.73 by Matthew Trotter of St. Norbert College set earlier this year. That time was a pool record, as well. He also established a school record in the 200 butterfly in 1:51.74. Both of those performances were meet records, as were the times posted by the 400 freestyle (3:06.08), 800 freestyle (6:58.04), 200 medley (1:32.70) and 400 medley (3:23.53) relay teams on which he competed.
Yuen was also on the first-place 200 freestyle relay team that finished in 1:24.58, and posted an individual win in the 200 individual medley (1:54.34).
The MWC Women's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week is Audrey Kilmer of Lake Forest College.
