LAKE GENEVA, Wis. –
Aiden Klass '25 was a perfect 4-for-4 on the men's tennis court Saturday, claiming wins in every match he played while leading Grinnell College past Wheaton College and Luther College at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Tournament.
Klass posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles in the Pioneers' 5-4 win over Wheaton. He also teamed up with
Leo Esztergomi '24 to post an 8-7 nail-biter victory at the top doubles spot.
Other winners against Wheaton came in singles play – Esztergomi at No. 1 (7-6, 6-3),
Wilder Cooke '25 at No. 3 (7-5, 6-2) and
Lucas Willett '26 at No. 4 (7-6, 6-4).
The Pioneers then cruised past Luther College 7-2, with singles wins coming from Cooke at No. 2 (0-6, 6-2, 1-0), Willett at No. 4 (7-6, 6-1), Klass at No. 5 (6-4, 6-2) and
Deuce Daniel '26 at No. 6 (6-0, 6-1).
Grinnell swept doubles competition with the duos of Esztergomi-Klass (8-6),
Sam Rudenberg '25-Daniel (8-3) and
Karch Knoll '25-Willett (8-3).
Grinnell, 3-2 on the season, meets the nationally-ranked host school on Sunday.
