ORANGE, Calif. – The Grinnell College men's tennis team closed out its spring break trip to California on a dominant note, knocking off nationally-ranked Chapman University by a 5-4 score Wednesday.
Grinnell got two of its five wins over the 33
rd-ranked Panthers in doubles play, as
Sam Rudenberg '25 and
Deuce Daniel '26 posted an 8-2 victory at the second slot and
Karch Knoll '25 and
Lucas Willett '26 won 8-7 at No. 3.
In singles, Grinnell got wins from
Wilder Cooke '25 at No. 2 (7-6, 6-2), Willett at No. 4 (4-6, 6-2, 6-3) and Rudenberg at No. 5 (6-2, 6-4).
Grinnell, 9-7 on the season, resumes its season April 8 at Lake Forest College.
