Tang establishes school record for singles victories in Grinnell's regular-season finale

GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell College's women's tennis team sent its talented senior class out in style Saturday, and one of those players set a new standard for Pioneers to come.

Sabrina Tang '23 established a new school record for singles victories by posting a 6-0, 6-0 decision at the No. 1 spot against Iowa Central Community College at the Bear Center Field House. Tang now has 76 career wins, topping the previous mark of 75 by Hanna Feldman. Tang's overall win total of 129 ranks third all-time.

Tang and fellow seniors Sophia de los Reyes '23 and Josephine Blumenthal '23 took the home court for the final time in the Pioneers' 8-1 victory. From here, Grinnell will await its NCAA Division III Tournament assignment as well as any individual bids.

Other singles winners besides Tang were Anika Sheth '26 at No. 2 (4-6, 6-4, 12-10), Isa Voinescu '26 at No. 3 (7-5, 6-4), Nehir Ergun '26 at No. 5 (6-2, 6-0) and Alyssa Trapp '26 at No. 6 (6-1, 6-4).

Doubles winners were the duos of Lily Perrin '25-Utsah Kalra '25 (8-4), Kalea Martin '25-Sydney Marin '25 (8-2) and Ioanna Giannakou '24-Blumenthal (8-1).

The Pioneers are now 15-7.
