PEORIA, Ill. – Grinnell College's men's tennis team will look to continue its successful campaign on a strong note this weekend at the Midwest Conference Tournament at The Clubs at River City.
Grinnell, ranked 11
th in the Central Region, claimed its 19
th consecutive MWC title last weekend. The tourney opens Friday with team competition as the top-seeded Pioneers entertain fourth-seeded Ripon College at 10 a.m. No. 2 seed Lake Forest College takes on third-seeded Cornell College at the same time.
The winners meet after that for the title, with that winner earning the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament. Grinnell has qualified for nationals 15 years in a row.
After the MWC team tourney, action shifts to the individual event Saturday with two rounds of singles and one of doubles. Singles and consolation championships, as well as the remaining doubles, are set for Sunday.
