GC women's soccer team collects 2nd road win in as many days while remaining unscored upon

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Two road games, two victories for the Grinnell College women's soccer team.

The Pioneers improved to 2-0 on the season and remained unscored upon as they toppled Coe College 1-0 Saturday. It marked the second year in a row that Grinnell beat the Kohawks by a 1-0 margin.

Tali Berk '23 scored the lone goal of the game in the 20th minute and the Grinnell defense held tight the rest of the way for the shutout. It was Berk's first goal of the season and fourth of her career.

While the Pioneers owned the shots battle 12-7, including six shots on goal, the defense stepped forward with the aid of first-year keepers Peyton Dixon '27 and Juniper Schwartzman '27. Dixon had one save.

Jane March '24 had five of Grinnell's shots, while Berk and Keiko Smith '25 added two apiece and Sarah Travis '27, Meilynn Smith '27 and Ramona Delborne '26 one each.

Coe dropped to 0-1 with the loss.

Grinnell's Alumnae Game on Sunday has been cancelled. The Pioneers' next contest will be on the road next Saturday against Carleton College.
