Pioneers celebrate national ranking with easy victory at Macalester

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Grinnell College, which recently entered the NCAA Division III men's swimming and diving national rankings for the first time in program history, put its muscle on display Saturday with a dominating performance.

The Pioneers traveled to Macalester College and came away with a 199-83 victory.

Individual champs for Grinnell were Noah Tsukuda '27 in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.16) and 500 freestyle (4:50.87), Adam Feilmeyer '25 in the 100 backstroke (54.49), Ethan Yuen '24 in the 100 breaststroke (58.39) and 100 butterfly (51.76), Toby Frick '24 in 1-meter diving (218.25), Antoni Staszkiewicz '27 in the 200 butterfly (1:58.59), Rommin Adl '26 in the 50 freestyle (22.07), Sam Larsen '25 in the 200 backstroke (1:58.84) and Benke Grobler '27 in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.65) and 200 individual medley (1:59.66).

The Pioneers also won the 200 medley relay with Kevin Fitzgerald '25, Harvey Wilhelm '24, Yuen and Adl in 1:35.82, while Josh Sutton '24, Adl, Fitzgerald and Yuen won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:27.21. Fitzgerald also swam the 200 butterfly in 1:59.13, a time that ranks 20th in program history.

The Pioneers host the Grinnell Mini-Invite next Saturday.
