GRINNELL, Iowa - Another day of the Midwest Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Championships meant another assault on the record books for Grinnell College.

The Pioneers won seven events Saturday at Russell K. Osgood Pool and set records in two of those while upping their commanding lead in the team standings.

Ethan Yuen '24 established MWC, meet and school records in the 100-yard butterfly with a winning time of 49.31 seconds. Yuen already owned the league and school marks of 49.37 in the event, but he also toppled the MWC meet record of 49.73 by St. Norbert College's Matt Trotter set last year.

The other record came from Kevin Fitzgerald '25, who won the 400 individual medley in 3:57.94 to earn an NCAA "B" cut and easily surpass Michael Brus' school record of 4:02.66 set in 2011.

Yuen also won the 100 breaststroke in 56.33, which would have been MWC, meet and school records had he not already broken those in a time trial Friday. The Pioneers' other individual victories Saturday came from Toby Frick '24 in 3-meter diving (393.20, 11th-best score in program history) and Rommin Adl '26 in the 100 backstroke. His time of 50.18 ranks third in program history.

The Pioneers won both relays contested Saturday. Adl, Harvey Wilhelm '24, Yuen and Kade Dolphin '24 took first in the 200 medley relay in 1:31.53, the second-best time in program history. Fitzgerald, Noah Tsukuda '27, Antoni Staszkiewicz '27 and Theo Mott won the 800 freestyle relay in 6:54.06, a time that is third all-time.

Runners-up for Grinnell were Staszkiewicz in the 400 individual medley (4:11.43, with a time of 4:06.82 in the prelims that ranks seventh at Grinnell), Mott in the 100 butterfly (50.94, second all-time), Tsukuda in the 200 freestyle (1:42.31, fourth all-time) and Wilhelm in the 100 breaststroke (57.58).

Placing third were Josh Sutton '24 in the 100 butterfly (51.19, with a prelim time of 51.04 that ranks third all-time) and Keely Yeager '27 in the 100 breaststroke (57.92, eighth all-time). Benke Grobler '27 was fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 58.40, while Sam Larsen '25 had the same placing in the 100 backstroke. His time was 51.96 after going 51.45 in the prelims, which is fifth at Grinnell.

Adam Feilmeyer '25 was fifth in the 100 backstroke in 52.03, while Dolphin placed sixth in the 200 freestyle in 1:45.57. Placing seventh were Noah Siegmeier '24 in the 400 individual medley (4:18.62, 20th all-time) and Cooper Malone '25 in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.04).  Jacob Lester '25 was eighth in the 200 freestyle in 1:47.30.

Grinnell has piled up 656.5 points through two days, while runner-up St. Norbert College has 388.5 points. The meet continues at 9 a.m. Sunday.
