ST. PETER, Minn. – Grinnell College's men's tennis team took to the road Saturday and found a lot of success, strolling past Bethel University of Minnesota 8-1.
The 36
th-ranked Pioneers swept doubles play, as
Karch Knoll '25 and
Lucas Willett '26 won 8-5 at No. 1,
Sam Rudenberg '25 and
Aiden Klass '25 posted an 8-7 decision at No. 2 and
Leo Esztergomi '24 teamed with
Wilder Cooke '25 to win 8-6 at No. 3.
In singles, Esztergomi won 6-0, 6-4 at the top spot. Grinnell also collected three-set victories at the Nos. 3 through 6 slots with
Albert Bostoen '26 (4-6, 6-2, 10-5),
Anshul Satav '27 (6-4, 2-6, 10-2),
Jacob Young '27 (6-7, 6-3, 10-4) and
Charles Yung '24 (4-6, 6-3, 10-6).
The Pioneers followed that match with a 9-0 loss to 12
th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College.
The Pioneers, 5-2 on the season, plays at Macalester College Sunday.
