Grinnell women's track and field team comes up big at Kip Janvrin Invitational

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Grinnell College's women saw big performances in the 4x100-meter relay and 400 dash as the Pioneers squared off against a large field consisting of schools from all levels of NCAA and NAIA at the Kip Janvrin Invitational Friday.

The 4x100 relay team of Jessica Goodman '26, Ava Taylor '25, Maile Crowe '25 and Eva Carchidi '24 won in a time of 50.14 seconds. Meanwhile, Carchidi ran the sixth-fastest 400 dash time in program history with a clocking of 59.16. That was good for third place.

Kylie Galowitz '26 finished ninth in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.85 meters, which is a PR and ranks fourth in program history. Maddy Strovers '26 was 21st at 36.07 meters.

Aiyana Rockwell '24 was ninth in the discus at 37.68 meters, while Galowitz threw 32.03 to finish 18th. In the long jump, Millie Leonard '27 was 17th in the long jump with a leap of 4.36 meters and Mira Vollmayr-Lee '26 was 20th at 4.14.

Sadie Staker '24 and Goodman were 14th and 15th in the 400 hurdles with times of 1:10.70 and 1:11.12, respectively. Goodman placed 25th in the 100 hurdles in 17.00 and Galowitz led the way for Grinnell in the shot put with a throw of 11.06 meters, good for seventh place, while Sara Booher '25 threw 10.61 which placed 10th.
