GC men's soccer team halts losing streak against Carleton with 1-1 draw

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Grinnell College's men's soccer team snapped an eight-match losing streak to unbeaten Carleton College, dating back to 2002, by earning a 1-all draw with the Knights Saturday afternoon.

Grinnell took a 1-0 lead into the locker room, getting a goal in the 25th minute by Samuel Gojjam '27 on an assist by Ezra Gould '27. It was Gojjam's second goal of the season and sixth in his career, while Gould collected his second assist.

Grinnell, 1-1-3 on the season, had seven shots with three by Anthony Hong '27, two by Jaxon Willoughby '26 and one apiece by Gojjam and Gould.

Keeper Jayson Kunkel '26 posted four saves in earning the draw with the 3-0-3 Knights.

Grinnell plays at Macalester College, a team receiving votes for the national rankings, on Sunday.
