GC men's swimming and diving team kicks off 25-26 on dominating note

GRINNELL, Iowa - The Grinnell College men's swimming and diving team flexed its collective muscle on the opening day of its season opener Friday night, winning six events in a double dual against Colorado College and Augustana College.

Evan Feilmeyer '28 and Aidan Donovan '28 were triple winners for the Pioneers at Russell K. Osgood Pool, who led Colorado College 101-63 after the first day and Augustana by a 110-54 count.

Feilmeyer won the 500-yard freestyle in 4 minutes, 47.70 seconds and 100 butterfly in 52.33. He also swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay team with Donovan, Spencer Pfaff '29 and Noah Tsukuda '27. Their time was 3:11.15.

Donovan won the 100 freestyle in 46.99 and joined Evan Ingraham '29, Keely Yeager '27 and Pfaff in winning the 400 medley relay in 3:31.15.

Ingraham was Grinnell's other winner, taking first in the 100 backstroke in 52.82. That time ranks 18th in program history.

Runners-up for Grinnell were Pfaff in the 100 freestyle (47.78), Ingraham in the 100 butterfly (52.82), Chris Zhou '27 in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.88) and Hayden Devorsetz '28 in 1-meter diving (224.45).

Taking third were Tsukuda in the 500 freestyle (4:56.17), Cadel Saszik '28 in the 100 backstroke (53.96) and Jackson Waters '27 in 1-meter diving (172.85).

The meet continues at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
