D3football.com Team of the Week

GRINNELL, Iowa – One day after being recognized as the Midwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, Grinnell College's Ben Bortel '29 has been honored on the national stage.
 
Bortel from Gig Harbor, Wash. (Charles Wright Academy), was named to the 22-player D3football.com Team of the Week following the Pioneers' 63-6 drubbing of Lawrence University Saturday. He is the 11^th Grinnell player to receive the honor since 1999, and the first since 2021.
 
He broke the school record for kicking points in a game with 13. The previous mark was 12, most recently in 2012. Bortel also kicked seven extra points, fifth all-time at GC, and booted field goals of 46 and 41 yards. The 46-yarder is the sixth-longest in program history.
