Pioneer men's swimming and diving team rolls up 13 victories in dual win over Coe

GRINNELL, Iowa - The number 13 turned out to be more than lucky for the Grinnell College men's swimming and diving team Friday night.

The Pioneers rolled up 13 event victories in a dual meet with Coe College at Russell K. Osgood Pool on its way to a 187-86 win.

Grinnell made its mark on the all-time leader board in two of the victories. Spencer Pfaff '29 won the 100-yard butterfly in 51.32 seconds, which ranks ninth in GC history. The 200 freestyle relay team of Rommin Adl '26, Pfaff, Evan Feilmeyer '28 and Aidan Donovan '28 won in 1:25.10, eighth all-time.

The Pioneers also won the 200 medley relay with Adl, Chris Zhou '27, Evan Ingraham '29 and Donovan. Their time was 1:35.43.

Other champs for Grinnell were John Kafumbe '28 in the 1000 freestyle (10:47.80), Noah Tsukuda '27 in the 200 freestyle (1:46.00), Benke Grobler '27 in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.54) and 200 breaststroke (2:18.09), Pfaff in the 50 freestyle (21.01), Feilmeyer in the 100 freestyle (47.67), Cadel Saszik '28 in the 500 freestyle (5:13.99), Gavin Stiglitz '28 in the 200 backstroke (2:04.92), Hayden Devorsetz '28 in 3-meter diving (221.85) and Jackson Waters '28 in 1-meter diving (203.18).

Grinnell got runner-up finishes from Feilmeyer in the 200 freestyle (1:48.05), Jack Cerone '28 in the 100 backstroke (59.98) and 200 individual medley (2:10.19), Jafar Jarrar '27 in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.82) and 200 breaststroke (2:22.08), Ingraham in the 100 freestyle (48.32), Stiglitz in the 100 butterfly (55.80) and Waters in 3-meter diving (185.48).
