Tsukuda shatters program record in 1000 freestyle at last chance meet

GRINNELL, Iowa - Noah Tsukuda '27 shattered the Grinnell College men's swimming and diving team's record in the 1000-yard freestyle Saturday at a last chance meet.

Tsukuda swam the race at Russell K. Osgood Pool in 9 minutes, 35.44 seconds to beat the previous mark of 9:38.91 set in 2015 by Ian Dixon-Anderson.

Kevin Fitzgerald '25 swam 21.35 in the 50 freestyle, which ranks 11th all-time, and Sam Larsen's '25 clocking of 1:43.87 in the 200 freestyle is 15th.

Antoni Staszkiewicz '27 ranks 15th in the 200 backstroke after swimming 1:57.35 and is 19th in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:57.81.
