Pioneer men's tennis team drops contest to Pomona-Pitzer in battle of nationally-ranked squads

POMONA, Calif. - Though Grinnell College's men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Pomona-Pitzer in a battle of nationally-ranked squads Saturday, the Pioneers gave great battles at several flights.

Wilder Cooke '25 won his first set at No. 1 singles 6-0 before falling in three, while Lucas Willett '26 and Karch Knoll '25 played their foes to three sets at Nos. 2 and 4, respectively.

In doubles play, Henry Park '28 and Knoll gave a good test to their opponent in the third slot before losing 6-4.

Grinnell, 4-5 and ranked 33rd nationally, meets Babson College on Tuesday. Pomona-Pitzer, the No. 29 team nationally, moved to 6-3.
