Grinnell women's tennis team rolls over UW-Eau Claire in 2025 home finale

GRINNELL, Iowa - Playing its final home match of the season, Grinnell College's women's tennis team answered the call by blowing past the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 7-0 in a battle of nationally-ranked squads.

Grinnell, 41st in the nation and ninth in the region, got the doubles point with 6-1 victories by the duos of Pari Chavan '27-Anika Sheth '26 at No. 2 and Isa Voinescu '27-Utsah Kalra '25 at No. 3.

The Pioneers then swept singles against the 61st-ranked Blugolds. Chavan, ranked 19th regionally, defeated the region's No. 16 player 6-4, 6-3 at the top spot. Other wins came from Lily Perrin '25 at No. 2 (6-3, 4-6, 10-8), Kalra at No. 3 (6-0, 6-3), Voinescu at No. 4 (6-3, 5-7, 10-8), Tan Mukherjee '26 at No. 5 (6-4, 6-0) and Nehir Ergun '26 at No. 6 (6-4, 2-6, 10-6).

Kalra's singles win gave her 65 in her career, fifth all-time at GC.

Grinnell travels to St. Louis next weekend to face Trinity University of Texas and Washington University.
