Pioneer men establish 2 new meet records at Grinnell Invite

GRINNELL, Iowa - A pair of meet records came tumbling down for the host school's men's swimming and diving team at the Friday's Grinnell Invite.

Spencer Pfaff '29, Evan Feilmeyer '28, Rommin Adl '26 and Aidan Donovan '28 set a new mark in the 200-yard freestyle relay at Russell K. Osgood Pool, while Evan Ingraham '29 set a new standard in the 200 butterfly.

The 200 freestyle relay team's winning time of 1 minute, 22.52 seconds eclipsed the mark of 1:23.97 set last year by Grinnell. Ingraham won the 200 fly in 1:51.06, beating Feilmeyer's record of 1:51.52 from last year.

Feilmeyer added a victory Friday in the 500 freestyle, swimming the race in 4:39.60.

Grinnell is third in the team standings with 303 points. St. Ambrose University leads the field with 449.

Donovan and Feilmeyer were runners-up in the 100 freestyle and 200 butterfly with times of 45.30 and 1:53.23, respectively. Ingraham, Keely Yeager '27, Pfaff and Donovan were second in the 400 medley relay in 3:25.90.

Noah Tsukuda '27 was third in the 500 freestyle in 4:44.31, the same placing as Pfaff in the 100 freestyle. His time was 46.26.

Placing fourth were Adl in the 100 freestyle (46.45) and Ingraham in the 100 backstroke (52.26), while Yeager placed fifth in both the 200 individual medley (1:59.90) and 200 breaststroke (2:09.35).

Antoni Staszkiewicz '27 was sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:00.97) and 200 butterfly (2:00.60), while John Kafumbe '28 was eighth in the 500 freestyle in 5:00.07.

The meet concludes Saturday.
