More meet records fall for Pioneer men on final day of Grinnell Invite

GRINNELL, Iowa - Two more meet records fell and four event titles were collected by the Grinnell College men's swimming and diving team at its own Grinnell Invite Saturday.


One meet record came from the victorious 200-yard medley relay team that finished in 1 minute, 31.35 seconds. The foursome of Evan Ingraham '29, Chris Zhou '27, Spencer Pfaff '29 and Aidan Donovan '28 broke last year's meet record time by .81 of a second while swimming the third-fastest time in program history.

Evan Feilmeyer '28 won the 1650 freestyle at Russell K. Osgood Pool in 16:19.01, the third-fastest time in program history. His clocking of 9:58.80 through 1000 meters ranks ninth.

Ingraham added a victory in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.31 and the 400 freestyle relay team of Pfaff, Ingraham, Feilmeyer and Donovan won in 3:05.74.

Grinnell's other meet record came from Pfaff in the 100 butterfly. He swam 49.60 in the prelims - the third-best time in program history - to beat a record that stood since 2018 by .38 of a second. Pfaff swam 50.92 in the final to finish second. He was also second in the 50 freestyle in 20.76.

Grinnell was third in the team standings with 618 points. St. Ambrose University won the title with 804.5.

Placing third were Noah Tsukuda '27 in the 1650 freestyle (16:38.30), Antoni Staszkiewicz '27 in the 400 individual medley (4:20.83) and Donovan in the 50 freestyle (20.77).

Feilmeyer was fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:44.94, while Keely Yeager '27 placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 58.60.

Placing seventh were John Kafumbe '28 in the 400 individual medley (4:29.51) and Zhou in the 100 breaststroke (59.01).

Taking eighth were Ryan Lim '29 in the 100 butterfly (52.65) and Gavin Stiglitz '28 in the 200 backstroke (2:03.64).
