EDINGBURGH, Ind. - The Grinnell College title train kept chugging along the track Tuesday at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Women's Golf Championships.

The Pioneers claimed their eighth consecutive SLIAC crown at Timbergate Golf Club, posting a three-day score of 884 to clinch the program's eighth NCAA Division III Championships berth. That score is second in program history and second in league history, trailing only the 873 Grinnell shot in 2024.

Grinnell has now won 14 league titles in a row, including six as part of the Midwest Conference from 2013 to 2018. The Pioneers easily won the 2026 crown, topping runner-up Mississippi University for Women by 84 shots in the 10-team field.

golf26indawardwinnersMadison Chen '30 claimed the SLIAC individual title with a three-day score of 1-under-par 215, tying her best score which ranks third in program history. That score is also third-best in SLIAC history. Chen was named SLIAC Player and Freshman of the Year after the tourney, while Connor McKay of Grinnell was named Coach of the Year for the third season in a row.

The Pioneers dominated the meet, claiming seven of the top nine spots in the 52-golfer field. Caroline Hoang '30 was the runner-up with a 220, which ranks eighth in GC history, while Coco He '30 scored a 224 for third place and Emily Lackershire '27 added a 226 to place fourth. He's score ranks 14th in program history and Lackershire's total is 19th.

Waverly Yang '28 placed fifth with a 232, Sammi Nguyen '30 was eighth at 237 and Saya Geisendorfer '27 took ninth with a 239.

Hoang was Grinnell's top shooter on Tuesday with a 1-over-par 73. Chen, Nguyen and Yang shot 76s, He and Lackershire added 77s and Geisendorfer shot an 86. Chen had three birdies on the day, He and Yang posted two apiece and Hoang and Lackershire had one each.

By virtue of their individual finishes, five Grinnell golfers were All-Conference selections (golfers competing as individuals were not eligible for the honor). Lackershire is now a four-time All-Conference pick. Additionally, Yang earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
