Offensive explosion propels Grinnell women's soccer team past Beloit 4-0

Pioneers claim critical MWC contest

BELOIT, Wis. - Playing a match with key implications in terms of the Midwest Conference Tournament, Grinnell College's women's soccer team put on an offensive display in disposing of Beloit College 4-0 Wednesday afternoon.

The Pioneers' goal total is the most they've scored since 2024 while improving to 2-3 in the league and 4-7-1 overall. The Bucs' loss was their first in conference play as they fell to 2-1-1 in the MWC and 3-6-1 overall.

Teya Lochridge '29 earned a hat trick for assists, with her total of three tied for fifth-best in program history. She also had the team's final goal.

Grinnell spread the wealth on offense, with four different players scoring goals. Pioneer keeper Grayson Allison '28 was impressive, earning her second shutout of the season and fourth of her career. Allison posted three saves.

The Pioneers went to work immediately, scoring less than two minutes into the game when Maya Mozena '28 found the back of the net on an assist by Lochridge. It was Mozena's first goal of the season and seventh in her career. Hollye Anne Brinkley '29 got into the scoring act in the 37th minute, her first score of the season and second in her career. Lochridge had the assist again.

Lochridge completed the assist hat trick four minutes into the second half on Emily Roesler's '28 first career goal. Just two minutes later, Lochridge scored her third goal this season and fourth in her career.

Grinnell outshot the hosts 13-8 and also had six corners compared to two for the Bucs. Lochridge led the visitors with three shots, Roesler and Brinkley added two apiece and coming up with one each were Lucy Collier '30, Campbell Swaim '28, Mozena, Caroline Novak '30, Nora Cheng '29 and Nora Lesmeister '30.

Grinnell plays at MWC leader Lake Forest College on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.
