GRINNELL, Iowa - For the second week in a row, Grinnell College has laid claim to the Midwest Conference Men's Tennis Performer of the Week.

This week's honoree is Maxi Gutbezahl '29, from Saginuma, Japan (Saint Mary's International School).

Gutbezahl was a perfect 6-for-6 as Grinnell posted a 2-1 mark at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invite over the weekend. In the Pioneers' 7-0 blanking of Wheaton College, he posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 1 singles and teamed with Alex Doane '28 to win 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. He followed that up with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles against Luther College and 7-5 victory at No. 3 doubles with Doane. In the Pioneers' 4-3 win over 35th-ranked UW-Whitewater, Gutbezahl won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and 6-2 with Doane at No. 2 doubles.
