Friday P.M. Results

GRINNELL, Iowa - Records continued to tumble for the Grinnell College men's swimming and diving team at the 2026 Midwest Conference Championships Friday.

The Pioneers established conference, MWC Championships, school and pool records in three of six events contested at Russell K. Osgood Pool on their way to taking a comfortable lead in the team standings.

Evan Feilmeyer '28 posted a winning time of 4 minutes, 28.76 seconds in the 500-yard freestyle to eclipse the meet, conference, school and pool records of 4:30.72 by GC Hall of Famer Michael Brus in 2013. He also eclipsed the NCAA "B" cut by 2.48 seconds.

In the 200 freestyle relay, Spencer Pfaff '29, Rommin Adl '26, Feilmeyer and Aidan Donovan '28 teamed up to win in 1:20.67. That topped the school and conference records of 1:21.38 set earlier this season, as well as meet and pool marks of 1:21.80 established last season by Grinnell. Their time beat the NCAA "B" cut by .64 of a second.

In the 50 freestyle, Pfaff swam 20.17 in the prelims to beat the meet record of 20.49 by Lake Forest College's Danny Tarkowski in 1994, as well as conference and school marks of 20.41 by Donovan earlier this season. It also tied Ike Eyman Casey's pool record and beat the NCAA "B" cut by .09 of a second. Pfaff swam 20.27 in the finals to win the event.

Grinnell had 346.5 points after two days, well ahead of runner-up Milwaukee School of Engineering's total of 292.

Also in the 50 freestyle, Donovan was second in 20.32, Adl placed third in 20.57 and Jafar Jarrar '27 took fifth in 21.28. Donovan's time ranks second in program history and Adl's is third. Jarrar swam 21.20 in the prelims, which ranks seventh all-time, and Ryan Lim's '29 clocking of 21.47 in the finals ranks 18th.

In the 500 freestyle, Noah Tsukuda '27 was second in 4:38.27, John Kafumbe '28 was seventh in 4:51.94 and Daniel Yoo '29 placed ninth in 5:00.22.
