Grinnell women's golfers move up 2 spots on final day of Kathy Niepegan Spring Fling

NORMAL, Ill. - Grinnell College's women's golf team jumped up two spots from sixth to a tie for fourth on the final day of the Kathy Niepegan Spring Fling Sunday.


Grinnell fired a 312 on the final day of action at Ironwood Golf Club for a two-day score of 623, eight shots out of third place. Washington-St. Louis was the champ of the 21-team meet at 607.

Vidushi Keni '26 was the Pioneers' top shooter Sunday with a 1-over-par 73 including one birdie, while Kavya Keshav '26 added a 75 with the aid of four birdies. Amy Nguyen '26, with one birdie, had an 81 and Saya Geisendorfer '27 and Waverly Yang '28 each shot 83s.

Keni tied for fourth overall with a 149, while Keshav tied for seventh in the 121-golfer field at 151. Nguyen finished with a 161, Geisendorfer had a 162 and Yang tallied a 168. Julie Imai of the University of Wisconsin-Stout and Grace Fagan of Illinois Wesleyan each shot 147s to lead the field.
