Pioneer women's golf team shoots out to early lead at Wartburg Spring Invite

Results

WAVERLY, Iowa - A balanced performance by its entire squad pushed Grinnell College's women's golf team into a first-place tie after the first day of the Wartburg Spring Invite.

The Pioneers shot a 303, the same as the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Saturday at Prairie Links Golf Course. Those squads lead third-place University of Dubuque by five strokes in the 10-team affair.

Vidushi Keni '26 was the Pioneers' top shooter with a 1-over-par 73, good for third place and just one shot out of first. Kavya Keshav '26 and Saya Geisendorfer '27 were next in line with a 75 and 77, respectively. Waverly Yang '28 and Amy Nguyen '26 rounded out the Grinnell lineup with a 78 and 80 respectively.

Yang had three birdies on the day, Keni and Keshav had two apiece and Geisendorfer and Nguyen recorded one apiece.
