Chavan advances to round of 8 at ITA Midwest Regional Championships

(Updated to include Pari Chavan's quarterfinal-round match)

ST. PETER, Minn. - Grinnell College's Pari Chavan '27 had an impressive run at the 2026 ITA Midwest Regional Tennis Championships Saturday by advancing to the final eight of singles competition.

Chavan, the third seed, defeated 25th-seeded Hannah Cady of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 6-2, 6-3 and then posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Magdalena Kristo of the UW-Eau Claire in the round of 16. She then dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to fellow Midwest Conference player and No. 5 seed Michaela Clark of Cornell.

Luiza Kohn '29, a No. 17 seed, advanced to the round of 16 as she beat ninth-seeded Mac Graves of Cornell 6-3, 6-2 before losing 6-0, 6-0 to fifth-seeded Rory Wahlstrand of Gustavus Adolphus College.

Eliana Martin '29 and Addie Persian '27 lost in the round of 32 Saturday. In doubles, Martin and Kayla Surpless '28 lost in the round of 16.
