Attended Iowa Mennonite School where he played basketball, baseball, soccer and flag football .. in basketball as a senior was named first-team All-State in Class 1A, was runner-up Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Class 1A Player of the Year, first-team All-SEISC, team captain, Academic All-Conference, Class 1A State Tournament All-Tournament Team while leading the tourney, regardless of class, in points scored with 76 and scoring average at 25.33, played on third-place team at state … also played on the Class 1A state runner-up team in 2007 and finished as the Iowa Mennonite School record-holder for career rebounds with 528 and ranks seventh in career scoring with 1,025 points … was a second-team All-State choice in baseball while also being named first-team All-Conference and All-Region … was an Iowa City Press-Citizen Male Prep Athlete of the Year finalist … aside from athletics was the Senior Class President and Academic Honors Graduate.
