What is a SAM?
Student Athlete Mentors serve as a connection to academic, athletic, and personal resources on campus. The SAMs are also trained to provide initial mental health intervention, and act as a support system on athletic teams, helping to resolve intrateam conflicts and build community between Grinnell athletic teams.
SAMs Mission
Student. Athlete. Mentors. (SAMs) main mission is to provide every sports team with a teammate who is equipped with the knowledge of Grinnell's resources and has the ability to provide support to the Grinnell community at large.
