Assistant Coach (Defensive Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator/Defensive Line)
Blalock began as an assistant coach at Grinnell in 2014.
Blalock, originally from Tampa, Fla., played football at Upper Iowa University where he was a three-year starter on the defensive line.
He graduated from Upper Iowa with a degree in criminology. Upon graduation, he served as defensive line coach at T.R Robinson High School from 2004-2006 and 2008-2012. As a unit, Blalock’s players averaged 22 sacks per season.
Blalock also served as defensive line coach at North Carolina Academy from 2007-2008, where the team had 20 sacks as a unit.
He recently earned his master's degree in leadership in higher education from Capella University.
Blalock and his fiancée, Elizabeth, have two sons Garett and Gene Blalock.
