Noah Ylagan joined the Grinnell College football staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2021.
 
Ylagan comes to the Pioneers after serving as a strength and conditioning assistant coach at Briar Cliff University and Bishop Heelan High School, both located in Sioux City.
 
He earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and human performance from Briar Cliff in 2019 and went on to gain a master’s degree in communications management from the University of Dubuque in 2021.
 
While playing at Briar Cliff in the highly-competitive Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), he was the Chargers’ Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2017 and 2018 and a second-team All-Conference selection both seasons. Ylagan capped his career by participating in the International Scouting Showcase in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
 
Ylagan finished as Briar Cliff’s career rushing leader with 3,387 yards and 17 touchdowns, while also holding the school record for rushing yards in a season with 1,334 yards. All told, he currently holds or is a part of 18 of the program’s 20 rushing records.
