Attended Forest Lake High School where he lettered for three years in both basketball and track & field. Griffin was named to the Suburban East All Conference team for basketball both his junior and senior year.

2012: All-Midwest Conference First-Team Selection … D3hoops.com Third-Team All-Region selection … broke NCAA Division III national record for points in a game with 89 against Principia College … led the nation in 3-point field goals made per game with 4.43 … Academic All-Conference.
