Julia Rumley ’16, from Anchorage, Alaska (East Anchorage): Rumley was a perfect 6-for-6 as the Pioneers swept three MWC foes over the weekend. She won one singles match at the No. 4 spot, two at the No. 5 position and teamed with Sydney Banach ’18 to sweep all three No. 3 doubles matches in the Pioneers’ victories over Lake Forest College, Carroll University and Beloit College. Those wins stretched Grinnell’s winning streak to five matches and assured the Pioneers a spot in next spring’s MWC Team Tourney, which determines the league’s automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division III National Tournament. For the season, Rumley owns an 8-2 singles record and also has eight doubles wins with three different partners.
