Grinnell College’s Sam Galanek ’18 has been named the Midwest Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week.
 
Galanek ’18, a 6-1, 187-pound designated hitter from Atlanta, Ga. (Marist School), tied the school mark for homers in a game with three in a 9-1 victory over Simpson College. That homer total matches the Grinnell record held by two other players and was just one shy of the MWC record of four.
 
Galanek, who was featured on the D3baseball.com website for his feat, had five RBIs in the game and raised his batting average to a team-high .421.
