For the third time this season, Grinnell College’s Ian Dixon-Anderson ’17 has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
The Pioneers swept the award, as Beth Tsuha ’17 was tabbed the Women’s Performer of the Week.
Dixon-Anderson, from Princeton Junction, N.J. (West Windsor-Plainsboro), had a huge showing while leading Grinnell to an easy win at its own Pioneer Classic over the weekend. Highlighting his performance was a meet record in the 1650-yard freestyle, where he swam 16:54.17 to break the previous mark by more than 3 seconds. He also won the 500 freestyle in 4:48.88 and 400 individual medley in 4:16.29.
Dixon-Anderson placed second in the 200 backstroke (1:59.35) and 200 butterfly (1:58.47) while also swimming on the runner-up 400 medley relay team that finished in 3:39.04. Grinnell won the meet with 1,488 points, more than 600 ahead of the runner-up.
