Julian Marx ’17, a 6-0 guard from Miami, Fla. (Ransom Everglades School), enjoyed a big week in two Pioneers games. In a contest at Central College, he drained 15-of-24 shots from 3-point land en route to scoring 51 points. That is the 15th-highest point total in Pioneer history, and his 3-point total is the fifth-best in program history and the most in a game for Grinnell since 2013. He followed with a 39-point performance against Greenville College. Marx sank 13-of-14 free throws as Grinnell broke the NCAA D-III record for free throws in a game with 54 and tied the mark for charity shots attempted with 71. Marx now has 1,888 career points, 16th on Grinnell’s all-time chart.
