Grinnell College's Vinny Curta '19 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Performer of the Week.
 
It was a sweep for Grinnell, as Kayla Morrissey earned the honor on the women's side.
 
Curta, a 6-5 guard from Oak Lawn, Ill. (Dwight D. Eisenhower), had an incredible week by averaging 36.3 points and 6.3 assists in three games as the Pioneers started the season 3-0. He shot 59.3 percent from the field and also recorded nine steals while inching closer to the 1,000-point mark for his career.
 
His biggest performance of the week came in a 153-100 victory over Emmaus Bible College where he tallied 51 points on 17-of-27 shooting.
