Jake Kaplinski recently won the G. Lester Duke '25 Award for best first-year athlete in a team sport. Kaplinski did a masterful job commanding the offense as quarterback of the Pioneer football team, completing 134-of-288 passes for 1,462 yards and 11 touchdowns, including a 63-yard TD pass. He also had a rushing touchdown and led the team in total offense.
