Grinnell College Athletics

Grinnell College’s Sophia Carroll ’25, from San Antonio, Texas (Alamo Heights), has claimed the Midwest Conference Women’s Swimmer/Diver of the Week award.
 
Carroll raced to four event titles as Grinnell worked past MWC rival Lake Forest College for the team title at Saturday’s Monmouth College Invite. Carroll earned individual wins in the 200- and 500-yard freestyles in 2 minutes, 1.51 seconds and 5:23.57, respectively. She narrowly missed the program’s all-time top 20 list in both events. Carroll was also part of the champion 200 medley relay team that finished in 1:55.14 and first-place 400 freestyle relay squad that swam 3:48.22. The Pioneers scored 141 points to beat Lake Forest by seven.
