Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 INDIANOLA, Iowa – Grinnell College finished with a pair of setbacks at the Simpson College Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.

The Pioneers began the day with a 25-12, 25-21, 25-19 loss to Coe College. Claire Weidman '15 had nine kills and Michelle Briggs '13 seven kills for the Pioneers.

Bethine Moore '13 handed out 25 assists, while Weidman added three aces and three blocks. Lindsay Fujimoto '15 and Sydney McClendon '16 had 17 and 10 digs, respectively.

The College of Saint Benedict then defeated Grinnell 25-22, 25-10 and 25-20. Weidman and Briggs again led the Pioneers in kills with six each and Moore tallied 16 assists.

McClendon served up two aces, Fujimoto had nine digs and Moore eight. Briggs and Weidman recorded four and three blocks, respectively.

The Pioneers, who are now 2-11 on the season, host the Grinnell Tournament next weekend.
