Pioneers fall in 4 sets at Lawrence

Box Score APPLETON, Wis. – The Grinnell College volleyball team lost a hard-fought 25-6, 28-30, 25-19 and 30-28 contest at Lawrence University Friday night.

Claire Weidman '15 had 18 kills for Grinnell and Natalie Duncombe '15 added 12. Weidman had a .261 hitting efficiency.

Lindsay Fujimoto '15 dished out 21 assists and Jeanette Au '16 added 16. Monica Knaack '17 served three aces, while Emma Knatterud-Johnson '15 had 25 digs. Weidman tallied 19 and Fujimoto 12.

Weidman, Duncombe, Evelyn Weidman '17 and Liz Nelson '17 all had two blocks.

Grinnell is now 1-2 in the Midwest Conference and 1-20 overall, while Lawrence improved to 1-1 in the league and 6-11 in all contests.

The Pioneers will play at St. Norbert College on Saturday.
