Pioneer men's basketball team falls to Lawrence

Box Score APPLETON, Wis. – The Grinnell College men's basketball team fell behind by 19 points at halftime in a 111-94 setback to Lawrence University Saturday afternoon.

Jack Taylor '15 scored a game-high 31 points for the Pioneers, who fell to 11-3 overall and 6-3 in the Midwest Conference. Aaron Levin '14 added 17 points, Luke Yeager '15 added 16 and Patrick Maher '14 had 13 points, seven assists, five rebounds and three steals.

Nick Curta '17, Tague Zachary '15 and Cody Olson '14 also had five rebounds each.

Lawrence, 6-7 overall and 4-4 in the MWC, got 23 points from Chris Siebert.

Grinnell got out to a quick lead on Taylor's opening basket, but Lawrence rallied and gradually pulled away. The Vikings were up by as many as 22 points before holding a 67-48 lead at the half.

Lawrence pushed its lead to 32 points in the second half before winning by 17.

Grinnell returns to Darby Gymnasium Wednesday, hosting Illinois College at 5 p.m.
