Box Score 2 ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Grinnell College volleyball team dropped a pair of hard-fought matches Friday at the St. Catherine Tournament.
Grinnell lost 3-0 to Hamline, with set scores being 25-16, 25-18 and 25-19.
Claire Weidman '15 had 14 kills for Grinnell, while
Margaret Giles '18 dished out 20 assists.
Evelyn Weidman '17 added one ace serve and
Lindsay Fujimoto '15 tallied 15 digs.
Liz Nelson '17 had four total blocks, while
Ariel Lepito '17 and
Evelyn Weidman had three each.
Grinnell then lost in three tight sets to host St. Catherine by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-22.
Natalie Duncombe '15 had a big hitting performance for Grinnell, pounding down 14 kills and posting a .321 efficiency. Giles dished out 25 assists and
Monica Knaack '17 served two aces.
Fujimoto had '13 digs and
Claire Weidman and
Evelyn Weidman two blocks each.
Grinnell, 5-10 on the season, takes on Wisconsin-Stout and St. Olaf in the tourney Saturday.
