Box Score DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Grinnell College volleyball team lost a 3-1 decision at Loras College Tuesday night.
Loras won by scores of 25-12, 25-9, 21-25 and 25-22. Grinnell is now 0-5.
Natalie Duncombe '15 had 10 kills for Grinnell, while
Claire Weidman '15 added eight and
Sarah Garringer '18 seven.
Margaret Giles '18 had 19 assists, while
Sydney McClendon '16 served three aces.
Lindsay Fujimoto '15 contributed 14 digs, while Weidman,
Evelyn Weidman '17, Garringer and
Rebecca Rasmussen '16 had two blocks each.
After losing the first two sets, Grinnell roared back in the third. The Pioneers stretched a 2-all tie into a 9-5 lead. Loras came back and forced numerous ties, the final at 16-all. Grinnell responded with a key four-point run, with Fujimoto serving three points. Garringer and Duncombe recorded kills down the stretch and
Emma Knatterud-Johnson '15 served two points to secure the victory.
Grinnell plays at the AIB College of Business in Des Moines Friday night.
