GALESBURG, Ill. – The Grinnell College men's basketball team stretched its winning streak over Knox College to 18 games Tuesday night with a 111-91 Midwest Conference victory over the Prairie Fire.
 
The Pioneers, who improved to 5-3 in the league and 7-6 overall, have beaten Knox in every game since Jan. 24, 2006.
 
Jack Taylor '15 led the Pioneers' balanced scoring attack with 20 points as he elclipsed the 1,500-point barrier while wearing a Grinnell uniform. He is the ninth player to accomplish such a feat.

Luke Yeager '15 had 19 and Jacob Ekstrand '18 poured in 13 for Grinnell. Julian Marx '17 and Ikaika Phillip '18 each had 12 and Nick Curta '17 put in 10.
 
Braedon Bayer '18 dished out 10 assists, while Phillip and Taylor had four steals each. Curta grabbed nine boards.
 
Knox fell to 2-6 in the MWC and 4-9 in all games.
 
Grinnell led by as many as 12 in the first half when Nathan Balcom '18 hit a 3-pointer to make it 38-26.  However, Knox came back and trailed 58-52 at intermission.
 
Knox was still within seven points in the second half before Grinnell sealed with the win with a 17-point run. Tague Zachary '15 began things with a 3-pointer, Yeager hit a conventional three-point play and Marx sank consecutive 3-pointers to put the Pioneers ahead 85-66 with 13:21 left.
 
Taylor followed with a jumper and Marx a trey to complete the run as Grinnell led 90-66 with 12:20 left. The Pioneers cruised from there.
 
Grinnell plays a MWC contest against Carroll University Saturday in Waukesha, Wis. Game time is 3 p.m.
