GRINNELL, Iowa - A strong shooting night sent the Grinnell College men's basketball team to a 113-74 Midwest Conference win over Illinois College Tuesday night at Darby Gymnasium.

The Pioneers hit 52.7 percent of their shots from the field, including a 48.9 percent success rate from 3-point land.

Luke Yeager '15 was 5-of-9 from beyond the arc while scoring a game-high 25 points.
Jack Taylor '15 tallied 18 points,
Julian Marx '17 had 12 and
Braedon Bayer scored 10.

Bayer also dished out six assists, as did
Kyle Parker '17. Parker had six steals and six rebounds, as well.

Grinnell is now 7-5 in the MWC and 9-8 overall, while the Blueboys fell to 2-10 in league play and 3-14 overall.

The Pioneers bolted out to a 20-4 lead before the Blueboys rallied, coming within 23-22 at the 10:29 mark of the first half.

But Grinnell responded by rattling off 14 unanswered points.
Jacob Ekstrand '18 began things with a layup before Bayer hit a 3-pointer.
Nick Curta '17 followed with a basket,
Nathan Balcom '18 added a trey and
Tague Zachary '15 sank a free throw.

Marx followed with a 3-pointer to complete the spurt, putting Grinnell ahead 37-22 with 6:33 left.

Grinnell was ahead 53-35 at intermission and never looked back from there.
