Grinnell football team loses at Cornell

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The Grinnell College football team lost a 60-6 decision to Cornell College Saturday afternoon.
 
The Pioneers' touchdown came at the 8:30 mark of the fourth period when TR Jones completed a 28-yard pass to Greg Ruzich.
 
Jones had 88 passing yards and Sam Poulos 86. Emmi Sandoval had six catches for 90 yards and Ruzich four catches for 32.
 
Ryan Slager and Edward Hardman had 13 and 12 tackles, respectively, for Grinnell.
 
Grinnell is now 0-1 in the Midwest Conference and 1-4 overall, while Cornell moved to 1-0 in the league and 2-3 overall.
 
The Pioneers take on Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill., next Saturday.
