GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College football team rolled up its first victory of the season Saturday afternoon, knocking off Lawrence University 28-20 at Rosenbloom Field. 
The Pioneers went to work immediately, as 
Carson Dunn scored on a 4-yard run with 7:20 left in the first period and 
Graham Fisher booted the extra point. 
After Lawrence tied it, 
Henry Cummings corralled a 67-yard TD pass from 
Sam Poulos with 1:19 left in the period. Fisher again had the extra point. 
Jacob Bernholtz got into the scoring act in the second period, scoring on a 19-yard TD pass from Poulos with 4:14 left. 
Lawrence scored with 3:05 left, but 
Emmi Sandoval took matters into his own hands when he returned the ensuing kickoff 94 yards to pay dirt. Again, Fisher kicked the extra point. 
Lawrence did have field goals in both the third and fourth quarters, but Grinnell hung on for the win. 
Poulos completed 17-of-26 passes for 183 yards, while Bernholtz had five catches. 
Defensively, 
Ryan Slager had 13 tackles and 
Kent Hoover 12.
